Garth Graham

Garth Graham, MD

Director & Global Head of Healthcare and Public Health
Google/YouTube

You’ll be glad you saw Garth because...

You’re unlikely to meet another teacher and leader with more insight into—or influence over—Americans’ equitable access to valid and reliable health information.

In an era of division and disinformation, what patients read online can outweigh anything their doctor tells them.

Graham works for accuracy and equity at the vital intersection of public discourse and public health. And he does it at a scale that only the world’s most powerful internet platforms can achieve.

Garth Graham joined Google in 2020 as Head of YouTube Health, having previously been Chief Community Health Officer at CVS Health, Vice President of Community Health at Aetna and President of the Aetna Foundation.

He served in two presidential administrations as US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, and was Assistant Dean for Health Policy and Chief of Health Services Research in the Department of Medicine at the University of Florida School of Medicine.

Board certified in Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Graham is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. His leadership experience includes board service on the National Heart Lung, and Blood Institute Advisory Council, the Institute of Medicine Board on Population Health and the board of the National Quality Forum.

Dr. Graham obtained his MD at Yale University School of Medicine and his MPH at the Yale School of Public Health. His medical education includes training in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins.

In 2021 the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine created the Garth N. Graham Distinguished Lectureship Award honoring researchers who advance health equity.
