Quality Talks 2015

You Are Invited

As part of the organization's 25th Anniversary celebration, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) invites you to be a featured speaker at Quality Talks: Inspiring the Future of American Health Care, NCQA's signature celebration the morning of Monday, November 9, 2015, in Washington, DC.

The event will be a "TED-style" symposium held at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum for an audience of 200 to 300 health care and public policy professionals, including government regulators, thought leaders and Congressional staff.

Video of your presentation will also persist as promoted content online to be seen by visitors to NCQA's Web properties, which receive more than 1 million visits annually.

Your Topic

Choose Your Own Subject

This event's scope is wider than NCQA's normal niche health care quality measurement; presentations will not necessarily be "about" quality.

To let speakers' creativity and passion for their work drive the event, we give you wide latitude in selecting your topic.

We ask only that your presentation involve some combination of:

  1. Focus on the future

This celebration is mainly a look ahead, not a look back.

  2. “Bring it home”

To match the conference theme of “bringing quality home,” presentations should reference how to personalize health care or patients' experience of care. What and how can patients' lives be impacted?

  3. Emphasize solutions

Discussing how to dismantle barriers to a better future is more appropriate for this event than dwelling on what those barriers are.

The Format

The “TED”-Style Format

Far from a conventional conference, this event follows a “TED”-style format. Talks should be:

  1. Compelling

Presentations should be polished, yet conversational and relatable.

  2. Novel

Either as a new messenger not typically featured at a health care quality conference, or as an established authority with something new to say, something about your talk should be unusual.

  3. Memorable

The TED-style format follows a strict 20-minute time limit and leaves audiences thinking, “Wow, I’m glad I saw that!”
